Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts (in Liberty Park)
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnics, family and friends of all ages to the 2013 Mondays in the Park Concerts on the porch of the Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts in Salt Lake City's Liberty Park. Concerts begin at 7:00 and are free. See the work of local craft artists we have invited to demonstrate on concert evenings. Come early to tour the museum--we'll be open until 6:45.
July 8 - Harry Lee and the Back Alley Blues Band
Enjoy an evening of the blues. Harry has been entertaining in Utah and all over the west his entire adult life and recently finished a European tour.
July 22 - Island Time II
Celebrate music and dance from a wide variety of music traditions with an authentic Polynesian vibe.
July 29 - Sudha's Indian Classical Dance Group and Lac Viet Band
Discover Bharantha Natyam--ancient classical dance. This 2,000-year-old art form was nurtured in the temples and courts of southern India. The Lac Viet Band specializes in authentic Vietnamese folk songs.
August 5 - Mariachi Sol de Jalisco
and Ballet Folklorico de las Americas
Experience Latino music and dance with traditional songs from Mariachi Sol de Jalisco and folk dances from Ballet Folklorico.
August 12 - Nino Reyos and the Twoshields Dance Troupe
Join us for an evening of American Indian music and dance. Nino Reyos was one of five flute players selected to be part of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games opening ceremonies.
August 19-Evening in Brazil
Come hear Brazilian music from the Bossa Nova movement from the classics of Antonio Carlos Jobim to contemporary Brazilian composers.
