In honor of the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Utah Health & Human Rights (UHHR) will host the Salt Lake City premier of the documentary Beneath the Blindfold, followed by a panel discussion.
The panel will include survivors of torture and experts in the field of trauma rehabilitation and treatment. Beneath the Blindfold presents the stories, insights and struggles of four Survivors from across the globe- Massaquoi, Columbia, Guatemala, and the United States-as they discover their unique and personal path to rehabilitation and recovery. Utah Health & Human Rights helps refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and asylees heal from the physical and psychological impacts of torture and rebuild their lives. UHHR is one of only 30 torture treatment programs in the United States.
